Facts On Giraffes

Giraffes are the tallest mammals in the world because of how long there legs and neck is. Female giraffes usually grow up to 14feet tall while males usually  grow up to 18 feet tall.Giraffes legs alone are taller then most people. Giraffes can run as quick as 56 kilometres an hour over short distances. They only have to drink once every couple of days and most of the water that they do drink comes from the plants that they eat. Giraffes are almost always standing up even when they sleep and giving birth. They only sleep for around 20 minutes every day and staying awake for most of the day keeps them aware of predators.

SPECIAL ADAPTIONS
Giraffes have long legs and necks also which they use to reach leaves in trees. Their back legs are shorter than their front legs which is also helps them to get to leaves. They also do not have to drink much at one time which helps them and keeps them safer because when they drink they go into awkward positions which leave them an easy target to predators.
SPECIAL FACTS
Not that many animals will ever attack adult giraffes but young giraffes do get attacked by animals like lions and leopards.
